Fans of Britney Spears picked up on a subtle but telling change involving her son and his name.

Sean Preston Federline, 20, appears to have quietly updated his online identity, sparking speculation that things may be shifting within the family after a turbulent few months.

The development comes after Spears, 44, was arrested by the California Highway Patrol on March 4 on suspicion of driving under the influence.

Police said she was “driving erratically at a high rate of speed” and “showed signs of impairment and submitted to a series of field sobriety tests,” according to Tyla.

She then briefly deleted her Instagram account. Since her return, Britney has shared a series of upbeat posts, including new photos with her sons.

In one image, Sean and his younger brother, Jayden James Federline, 19, are seen on a boat alongside their mother.

Around the same time, Sean appears to have made a notable change to his Instagram profile.

According to TMZ, his name now reads “Sean P Spears,” suggesting he may have dropped his father Kevin Federline’s surname on the platform.

The update comes after reports that Sean had previously chosen not to spend the festive season with his mother, instead staying in Louisiana with family members. Now, however, there are signs the family may be coming back together.

Fans have pointed to both the recent photos and Sean’s apparent name change as possible indicators that Spears has the support around her that many have hoped to see.

Spears is due in court on May 4 in relation to the arrest.
