John Conlee – Country music icon, over 70 years old still makes the Opry stand up and applaud

No need for fireworks, no need for choreography, just a voice full of country love and a heart attached to traditional music, John Conlee made the Grand Ole Opry stage explode last night. At over 70 years old, the legendary singer of “Rose Colored Glasses” is still as smooth and passionate as ever, bringing the audience back to the golden age of pure country.
Even Blake Shelton – the guest of honor of the night – could not hide his emotion: “It was a great honor for me to see him on stage. He is the definition of ‘pure country’.”

John Conlee is not just an artist, he is a memory, the soul of the Opry. And last night, he once again proved that: legends never get old.
