Anne Burrell, celebrity chef and host of The Food Network’s “Worst Cooks in America,” has died, according to a post published by the Food Network. She was 55 years old.
“We are deeply saddened to share the news that beloved chef, Anne Burrell, passed away this morning,” the caption read. “Anne was a remarkable person and culinary talent – teaching, competing and always sharing the importance of food in her life and the joy that a delicious meal can bring. Our thoughts are with Anne’s family, friends and fans during this time of tremendous loss.”
Burrell died at her home in Brooklyn, New York, on Tuesday morning, People magazine said.
She is survived by her husband, Stuart Claxton, whom she married in 2021, and his son, her mother and her two siblings.

Burrell was known for her platinum blonde spiky hair and her fun, can-do personality.

Fans of the Food Network would recognize her from shows such as “Secrets of a Restaurant Chef,” for which she received an Emmy nomination. She also appeared on “Chef Wanted,” “Chopped,” and other Food Network series.
Burrell was on TV screens as recently as April, making chicken Milanese cutlets topped with escarole salad in one of her many appearances on NBC’s “Today” show. She faced off against other top chefs on the Food Network’s “House of Knives” earlier in the spring.
