Alexa, a Citi Concert Series attendee, has seen him live 19 times—and he hugged her for it.

On Tuesday, May 13, Blake performed LIVE on TODAY as part of the Citi Concert Series, which kicked off on Tuesday, May 6. During his performance, the 48-year-old country singer wowed onlookers with “Texas” and “Stay Country or Die Tryin’,” two tracks off his recently released album, For Recreational Use Only, along with classics like “Boys ‘Round Here” and “Honey Bee.”
Of the hundreds of fans that filled Rockefeller Plaza to watch Blake’s performance, one stood out—so much so that Blake made a point to step offstage to meet her.

Alexa, a young woman from Erie, Pennsylvania, was standing in the crowd watching in awe as she witnessed Blake perform live for the 19th time. Then, the magic happened: Craig Melvin asked if she’d like to meet Blake in person, at which point Blake stepped off-stage, walked up to her, and gave her a big hug. It was an emotional moment filled with happy tears.
As touched as Alexa was to experience the moment, TODAY viewers were equally enamored with the televised moment.
“Blakey. One of the good guys. Awesome,” one fan commented on Instagram. “Omg he is legit the nicest human,” someone else wrote. “I can’t claim meeting him but my cousin has. He worked with the crew on The Voice. He said that Blake is even nicer than he appears! Seems like such a good guy,” another fan chimed in.
Blake marked the second installment of the Citi Concert Series. Throughout summer, TODAY viewers can expect to see performances from acts like Cynthia Erivo, Zac Brown Band, and the Jonas Brothers. Here’s hoping even more dream fan encounters occur in the process.
