Gwen Stefani’s ex husband Gavin Rossdale makes rare comment about their divorce – after his shock ‘three-year cheating scandal’
Gwen Stefani’s ex husband Gavin Rossdale made a rare comment about his divorce as he spoke on a new podcast this week.
The 55-year-old pop icon shares three sons Kingston, 18, Zuma, 16, and Apollo, 10, with Gavin – who she divorced in 2015.
At the time of their divorce she accused Gavin of adultery and reports swirled afterwards that Gavin had had a three-year affair with Mindy Mann who was their family nanny.
She has since remarried to the country music star Blake Shelton while he is now in a relationship with singer girlfriend Xhoana X.
Now Gavin has revealed 30 Rock star Jack McBrayer helped him ‘raise’ his kids after his divorce from Gwen.
Speaking on the latest podcast episode of Dinner’s on Me with Jesse Tyler Ferguson on Wednesday, Gavin also remembered his marriage fondly.

Reflecting on the house they had in Los Angeles, he said: ‘It was such an exciting time. I was there for a number of years when we were just together, when we got married, we had our first kid there.
‘Gwen did a beautiful job on the nursery. That house has fantastic memories. We used to have amazing new year’s eve parties every year. We never knew what to do, so it was easier to make the party come to us. Fantastic times.
‘That was right at the height of everything really fun work-wise, it was really a great time for us. So I have a great memory of that house. Beautiful time.’
Speaking on the support he got from pal Jack at that time she added: ‘What’s so sweet about Jack is since I got divorced and was raising the kids on my own, he’s come to every Christmas and Thanksgiving that I do with my kids.
‘The last Thanksgiving, he sent me – and I posted it on my Instagram a little while ago – he sent me an invoice. For his presence!’
‘Jack is the best. He’s wonderful. He’s a really good friend of mine.’
He added that Jack, who starred in the hit US comedy series 30 Rock alongside Tina Fey and Alec Baldwin, has also been helping him try to break into acting.
The Bush frontman has largely remained silent about his ex following their divorce in 2016 after nearly 13 years of marriage.
However, in an interview last year, he candidly discussed his ‘shame’ over the separation.
‘I never thought I’d ever get divorced, so there’s a simple shame in my life,’ the rockstar began.
‘I feel bad for my kids,’ he continued. ‘I wish I could have found a way to not have that in their lives. It wasn’t fun for me to come from a broken home.’
He added: ‘It can be quite debilitating for kids. The overriding thing is you don’t want to let your kids down.’
Gwen has previously said of their divorce: ‘When that happened, I had to literally start over again. It was a reset of my life.’
In a 2016 Harper’s Bazaar interview she also called the lead-up to their divorce as ‘months of torture’.
She explained that she had a feeling that Gavin was hiding things from her, alluding to his alleged affair with their former nanny.
Gwen said: ‘It was the beginning of hell. Like six, seven, eight months of torture, trying to figure out this big secret.
‘It was so insane because not only did my family break up, but then my kids are taken away like half the time, so that was really like: ‘What?! What did I do?’
