Heartbreaking Photos of Ozzy Osbourne’s Funeral
Ozzy Osbourne’s friends and family had support from hundreds of his fans as they gathered in Birmingham, England on Wednesday, July 30, to celebrate the late heavy metal icon.
His wife Sharon, was joined by their children, Kelly, Aimee, and Jack Osbourne, in Ozzy’s beloved hometown for an emotional funeral procession on a street lined with adoring fans of the Black Sabbath legend. They were also joined by Ozzy’s son Louis Osbourne, whom he shared with ex-wife Thelma Riley.
Ozzy died at his home in England with Sharon by his side on July 22, just a few short weeks after his final farewell concert on July 5. “It is with more sadness than mere words can convey that we have to report that our beloved Ozzy Osbourne has passed away this morning,” the family’s statement read. “He was with his family and surrounded by love. We ask everyone to respect our family’s privacy at this time.”
To honor him, the family made their way to Birmingham’s Black Sabbath Bridge and Black Sabbath Bench, landmarks in the city designed in honor of the famous rock band, before holding a private funeral ceremony in the city.
