Talent runs in the family.

We all know Morgan Wallen is the biggest thing in country, and one of the hottest acts in all of music, but he isn’t the only one in the Wallen family with singing talent. He and his sisters, Ashlyne and Mikaela, grew up singing in church and Ashlyne is actually featured on the background vocals for his song “Outlook.”

The country music superstar was born in Sneedville, Tennessee, and then moved to Knox County with his family, where he played baseball in high school. While he obviously took singing incredibly seriously and wound up making a career out of it, he’s not the only one who seems to be a natural.

Last night, Morgan’s younger sister Mikaela shared a cover of “The House of the Rising Sun” on TikTok, and she has an incredible voice. Of course, the song was popularized by  The Animals in the mid 1960’s, but is an American traditional folk song, sometimes called “Rising Sun Blues.”  The song was first collected in Appalachia in the 1930s, but also has roots as a traditional English folk song.

Mikaela shared the video with a caption saying she was feeling brave about posting it but “might delete later,” though I don’t think she has anything to be worried about because she did a great job here. Morgan might be the most famous singer in the family, but they all can hold their own which is likely thanks to growing up around music from such a young age:

Not to state the obvious, but we really might need another tune with Morgan’s sisters both featured on at least the background vocals again… they can all really sing, and it’s impressive, to say the least.
