At the MetLife Stadium on Aug. 10, the Jonas Brothers stunned fans as Joe Jonas paused mid-song to reminisce about Camp Rock. Then, in a twist no one saw coming, he called out Demi Lovato â his ex and former co-star â to join him on stage. The moment her name left his lips, 20,000 fans screamed in unison, the stadium shaking with excitement. The roar only grew louder as the two sang âGotta Find Youâ for the first time in over a decade, their voices blending like no time had passed.
The Jonas Brothers took a trip down memory lane as they kicked off their 20th anniversary tour.
On Sunday, Aug. 10, Kevin, 37, Joe, 35, and Nick, 32, had a huge surprise for fans as they performed the first of their JONAS20 shows at MetLife Stadium in their home state of New Jersey with a very special guest.
The trio reflected on their 2008 hit Disney movie, Camp Rock, with Joe â who played pop star Shane Gray in the film â belting out the song âGotta Find Youâ before he introduced his former costar Demi Lovato, 32, who played Mitchie Torres, to the stage.
The pair, who played onscreen love interests as well as having a short-lived relationship in real life in 2010, sang the movieâs hits, âThis Is Meâ and âWouldnât Change a Thingâ together.
After singing âThis Is Me,â which the duo performs together toward the end of the Disney flick, Joe â who added lines from âGotta Find Youâ into the song â told the crowd they hadnât performed the track for âalmost 10 years,â as Lovato insisted it âmight have been longer.â
Kevin and Nick also starred in the movie as fellow Connect Three band members Jason and Nate, respectively, and the latter reflected on the audition process while introducing the tribute during the gig.

He recalled of bosses initially wanting Joe to star in the flick, âJoe got the job, and then somehow our dad figured it out to get me and Kevin to be involved in the movie too,â adding, âI think itâs time that we all walk down this memory lane to celebrate a little movie called Camp Rock.â
Lovatoâs husband, Jordan âJutesâ Lutes, 34, was among those sharing snippets from the much-talked-about reunion on social media on Sunday.
The singer shared a clip on his Instagram Stories showing his other half walking onto the stage to huge applause, writing, âCouldnât be more proud ⌠I love u sooo much baby,â while tagging Demi in the post.
Joe and Demi also posted their excitement over the reunion, with the pair lip syncing to âWouldnât Change a Thingâ in an Instagram video, as well as lip syncing to fellow Disney star Debby Ryanâs iconic âSat Down with the President of Disney Channelâ speech in another clip.
Demi captioned the post, âFor the history books @joejonas.â
The surprises didnât end there, as the brothers were later joined on stage by their parents Kevin Jonas Sr. and Denise Jonas, and younger brother Frankie, 24, as well as Kevinâs wife, Danielle Jonas, and the coupleâs daughters Valentina, 8, and Alena, 11, as they sang the bandâs 2007 track âWhen You Look Me in the Eyes.â
The brothers recently discussed the 20th anniversary shows during an appearance on The Tonight Show Starring Jimmy Fallon on Friday, Aug. 7.
âThereâs so much music to play,â Kevin said. âThe setlist is hard to build, right? But at the same time itâs so fun because we do get to take breaks and admire each otherâs work at the same time.â
Joe jokingly added, âAnd pee breaks mostly.â

Reflecting on the bandâs 20-year anniversary, Nick said that âitâs hard to believeâ â and âin a lot of ways, it feels like it flew by.â When they were putting the show together, it felt âbasically impossible to summarize a 20-year journey with music.â
âWhat we feel weâve come to is something that really represents the journey weâve been on and the songs that are relevant to us and those steps in our career in different moments,â the âCloseâ singer continued. âWeâve got some amazing special guests lined up and I just canât wait.â
The tour comes after the release of the Jonas Brothersâ latest studio album, Greetings from Your Hometown.
