counter hit xanga Stephen Graham Didn’t Expect This Moment — and Neither Did Anyone Watching Stephen Graham walked onto the Golden Globes stage looking stunned, almost as if he needed a second to believe it was really happening. Moments earlier, he had been wrapped in a congratulatory hug from Leonardo DiCaprio. But what followed wasn’t just a victory speech. It was a confession of gratitude. Winning big for Adolescence, Graham’s emotions didn’t spill out as polished lines or industry thank-yous. Instead, they came out raw, personal, and deeply human. His voice softened as he began to acknowledge the people who carried him to that stage — not just legends in the room, but the ones who stood beside him when the cameras weren’t rolling. “Queen Latifah— wow, can’t believe it,” Stephen Graham said as he spotted the actress and singer in the audience at the Golden Globes

Stephen Graham got starstruck by Queen Latifah as he accepted his award at the 2026 Golden Globes.

The actor, 52, won Best Performance by a Male Actor in a Limited Series, Anthology Series, or a Motion Picture Made for Television for his role in Netflix’s Adolescence at the Sunday, Jan. 11 awards show in Los Angeles.

Graham got a big hug from his Gangs of New York costar and old friend Leonardo DiCaprio as he made his way to the stage, and he also shouted out Latifah, 55, as he wrapped up his speech.

“First of all, I’d just like to say a massive congratulations to all of the nominees in the category. Outstanding performances all across the board, each and every one of you, it’s an honor to share this space with you,” Graham said.

The actor thanked his wife Anna Walters, who works on Adolescence as an executive producer and appeared in one episode, as “one of the most best producers ever and a woman I’m very, very lucky to be married to.”

“I’ve said it before, but you saved my life. You saved my life,” he told Walters. “And to my two beautiful children, Grace and Alfie, I love you to the moon and back forever. My dad, my pops, my hero, and I would just like to dedicate this particular award to my mom and all my friends and family, you all know exactly who you are. Without you, none of this is possible.”

“… Queen Latifah—wow, can’t believe it!” Graham added, to laughter from the audience. “Goodnight, God bless, and in the words of Bob Marley, ‘One love!’ “
