(NewsNation) — The son of a singer, who performed in a Neil Diamond tribute band, has called out actors Kate Hudson and Hugh Jackman for damaging his dad’s “legacy” in their new film.
Jackman and Hudson portray real-life husband and wife, Mike and Claire Sardina, in “Song Sung Blue.” The couple created the band Lightning and Thunder in the 1990s.
Michael “Mike” Sardina Jr., 41, son of Sardinia Sr., told the Daily Mail he is considering suing the production company behind the movie, along with Focus Features and NBCUniversal.
He alleges they “completely destroyed the one thing my father worked his entire life to pass on — his legacy.”
“My father’s rolling in his grave right now,” Sardina Jr. said.
“Everybody thinks it’s such a wonderful film, it’s so touching. It’s all lies,” Sardinia Jr. said. “And it steals all the hard work that my father put in his entire life.”
Sardina Jr., who is Mike Sardina Sr.’s son from his second marriage, said “Song Sung Blue” “purposely” left him out of the movie.

Michael “Mike” Sardina Jr. said that Hudson and Jackman are “monsters” for not mentioning him while they were promoting the movie.
“Every interview that those monsters have been on national television don’t even mention my existence at all, even though I was the most prevalent force in my father’s life, even when I wasn’t in Wisconsin, because I’m his only son,” he said.
According to Sardina Jr., he was paid “a pathetic $30,000” to be a consultant on the film, alongside his sister, Angelina Sardina, who was portrayed in the movie by singer-songwriter King Princess.
