American Idol Shares New Teaser for Season 24

“When I was little, watching American Idol, I was sure that I was gonna find a way onto that stage,” says one contestant in the new teaser for Season 24. Another contestant calls her audition “the first page of my story.”

The teaser goes on to show several more hopeful singers sharing motivational messages about their auditions. We also see clips of the show’s judges (Carrie Underwood, Lionel Richie, and Luke Bryan) reacting to some of this season’s performances, saying “Wow!” and “Beautiful!”

“You make them idols,” the teaser tells fans. The video features several shots of contestants celebrating with their Golden Tickets to Hollywood, which are given out to singers who make it past the audition round.

When Does the New Season Premiere?

American Idol is moving to a new night for Season 24. The show will premiere on ABC on Monday, January 26, with new episodes premiering on Mondays throughout the season. This is different from the Sunday time slot which the show has held for a number of seasons.

Former winner Carrie Underwood is returning to the judges’ table for her second season, alongside longtime judges Lionel Richie and Luke Bryan — who have been with the show since it moved from FOX to ABC in 2018.
