Hoda Kotb Will Co-Anchor Today for Fourth Week as Search for Savannah Guthrie’s Mom Continues
Nancy Guthrie, 84, was last seen on Jan. 31 and reported missing the following day

Hoda Kotb will continue to co-anchor the Today show as the search for Savannah Guthrie’s missing mother, Nancy Guthrie, continues, PEOPLE can confirm.
Kotb, 61, has been co-anchoring Today with Craig Melvin since Feb. 6. She left the show full-time in January 2025, and although she has made sporadic appearances since then, this is her first extended return to the morning news show. Kotb and Melvin, 46, were scheduled to travel to Milan, Italy, to join NBC’s 2026 Winter Olympics coverage, but canceled those plans amid the search for Nancy.
“You know what, Craig? We always talk about our show as a family. We are a family,” Kotb said on the Monday, Feb. 9 broadcast. “I’m part of the family. I’m happy to be with you because we show up for each other.”

The Today show team put yellow ribbons and flowers around Studio 1A, after Arizona residents did the same in Nancy’s neighborhood. Kotb, Melvin, and other Today talent have also worn yellow ribbons.
Nancy, 84, was last seen alive on Jan. 31 after having dinner with family. She was reported missing on Feb. 1 after she failed to attend a virtual church service at a friend’s home.
Savannah, 54, later flew to Tucson, Ariz., to join her siblings, Annie Guthrie and Camron Guthrie. In her most recent Instagram video, published on Tuesday, Feb. 24, Savannah said the family continues to hope for Nancy’s recovery, adding that her family has been “fearing for her and aching for her and most of all just missing her
However, Savannah added that her family understands that Nancy may have died, explaining, “We also know that she may be lost, she may already be gone. She may already have gone home to the Lord that she loves and is dancing in Heaven… and if this is what is to be, then we will accept it. But we need to know where she is. We need her to come home.”

In the video, Savannah announced that her family is offering a reward of up to $1 million for any information that could lead to Nancy’s recovery. The family is also donating $500,000 to the National Center for Missing and Exploited Children.
The FBI also has an active $100,000 reward for information that could lead to Nancy’s recovery.
Although officials have released images of a masked intruder outside Nancy’s home, a suspect has not been identified. On Sunday, Feb. 22, Pima County Sheriff Chris Nanos explained to the Daily Mail why he believes she was kidnapped instead of being the victim of a robbery gone wrong.
“This is somebody who’s disappeared from the face of the earth, and now we have a camera that says here’s the person who did this,” Nanos said, referring to the images of a masked intruder.
“And that’s what makes me say this is a kidnapping,” Nanos continued. “The motivation for it is where we get stuck, right? Is it for money? I mean, we had the one demand where they asked for money. But is it really for money, or is it for revenge for something?”
