Olympic gold medalist Hilary Knight took playful jabs at Olympic hockey stars Jack and Quinn Hughes on Saturday Night Live.
‌During the NBC broadcast of the popular variety sketch show, which took aim at Donald Trump over the Iran attack, Heated Rivalry star Connor Storrie served as host on February 28. During the opening monologue, the host was initially joined by the Hughes brothers.

Knight and her gold medal winning teammate Megan Keller then appeared on stage alongside them. Members of the U.S. Olympic Men’s and Women’s teams came together to exchange jokes.
Kicking things off with the banter, Knight bluntly told Storrie, “Don’t worry. We saw your show,” referring to his sexy sports drama. After a huge round of applause, Storrie said, “Oh wow! Helen! Megan! It’s so cool that we’re all here!”, reports the Mirror US.
Knight referenced President Donald Trump’s White House invite and jokingly said, “It was gonna be just us, but we thought we’d invite the guys too,” which drew massive cheers from the audience.
Keller also took a shot and said, “Yeah, we thought we’d give them a moment to shine.” She then nudged Quinn’s arm playfully.
Storrie continued, “Well it is very important, you know, my show speaks to people who are represented in hockey. So this is actually great to have actual hockey legends here tonight.

“I mean both of your teams just won the gold,” he pointed out. Quinn mentioned, “Thanks! The last time the men did that was 46 years ago.” Knight jokingly said, “And the last time we did that was two whole Olympics ago.”
Jack conceded, “Nice burn!” He continued, “These medals aren’t for us. They’re for all hockey fans. Yours too.” Storrie turned to the four and inquired, “So can I try one on?”. All of the Olympic champions responded in unison, “No!”.

“We have a great show for you tonight!” Storrie concluded. “Mumford and Sons are here! Stick around We’ll be right back!”. The five shared a group hug before the show cut to commercial.
On February 22, the hockey players received a congratulatory call from President Trump, 79, who extended an invitation to the men’s team to his State of the Union address. Trump humorously suggested he would face impeachment if he didn’t extend the same invitation to the women’s team.
The president jested, “I must tell you, we’re going to have to bring the women’s team, you do know that.”

In a public statement, a representative for the women’s team expressed: “We are sincerely grateful for the invitation extended to our gold medal–winning U.S. Women’s Hockey Team and deeply appreciate the recognition of their extraordinary achievement.
“Due to the timing and previously scheduled academic and professional commitments following the Games, the athletes are unable to participate.
“They were honored to be included and are grateful for the acknowledgment,” the statement concluded.
