Olympic gold medalist Hilary Knight took playful jabs at Olympic hockey stars Jack and Quinn Hughes on Saturday Night Live.
âDuring the NBC broadcast of the popular variety sketch show, which took aim at Donald Trump over the Iran attack, Heated Rivalry star Connor Storrie served as host on February 28. During the opening monologue, the host was initially joined by the Hughes brothers.

Knight and her gold medal winning teammate Megan Keller then appeared on stage alongside them. Members of the U.S. Olympic Menâs and Womenâs teams came together to exchange jokes.
Kicking things off with the banter, Knight bluntly told Storrie, âDonât worry. We saw your show,â referring to his sexy sports drama. After a huge round of applause, Storrie said, âOh wow! Helen! Megan! Itâs so cool that weâre all here!â, reports the Mirror US.
Knight referenced President Donald Trumpâs White House invite and jokingly said, âIt was gonna be just us, but we thought weâd invite the guys too,â which drew massive cheers from the audience.
Keller also took a shot and said, âYeah, we thought weâd give them a moment to shine.â She then nudged Quinnâs arm playfully.
Storrie continued, âWell it is very important, you know, my show speaks to people who are represented in hockey. So this is actually great to have actual hockey legends here tonight.

âI mean both of your teams just won the gold,â he pointed out. Quinn mentioned, âThanks! The last time the men did that was 46 years ago.â Knight jokingly said, âAnd the last time we did that was two whole Olympics ago.â
Jack conceded, âNice burn!â He continued, âThese medals arenât for us. Theyâre for all hockey fans. Yours too.â Storrie turned to the four and inquired, âSo can I try one on?â. All of the Olympic champions responded in unison, âNo!â.

âWe have a great show for you tonight!â Storrie concluded. âMumford and Sons are here! Stick around Weâll be right back!â. The five shared a group hug before the show cut to commercial.
On February 22, the hockey players received a congratulatory call from President Trump, 79, who extended an invitation to the menâs team to his State of the Union address. Trump humorously suggested he would face impeachment if he didnât extend the same invitation to the womenâs team.
The president jested, âI must tell you, weâre going to have to bring the womenâs team, you do know that.â

In a public statement, a representative for the womenâs team expressed: âWe are sincerely grateful for the invitation extended to our gold medalâwinning U.S. Womenâs Hockey Team and deeply appreciate the recognition of their extraordinary achievement.
âDue to the timing and previously scheduled academic and professional commitments following the Games, the athletes are unable to participate.
âThey were honored to be included and are grateful for the acknowledgment,â the statement concluded.
