The\u00a0country star and podcaster have been incredibly open\u00a0about their relationship, inviting their fans to learn more about them both through their connection to the other. \u201cHey Mama\u201d peeks into Jelly Roll\u2019s life on the road while wishing he was home.\u00a0<em>Hey, mama, don\u2019t you know that my lonely needs you to hold. And one day, these winds will blow me back in your direction. He was also thinking about Ozzy Osbourne.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cI\u2019m a huge Ozzy fan,\u201d Jelly Roll\u00a0revealed to\u00a0<em>Rolling Stone<\/em>\u00a0in 2024. \u201c[\u201cMama, I\u2019m Coming Home\u201d is one of my favorite Ozzy songs. You know what\u2019s important about [my] song? A lot of times I write from the perspective of where I come from, or from the perspective of who I represent to get [listeners] to look at things differently. This was a glimpse of me getting to write what I\u2019m doing\u00a0<em>right now<\/em>. We wrote that at sunrise at a Pilot station. It\u2019s got that old truck stop feeling. I wanted that song to feel like the morning dew when you get off the bus to p*** at 5:15.\u201d<\/p>\n<div class=\"rYFsS3tF\"><\/div>\n<div class=\"code-block code-block-inpage\"><\/div>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<h3 id=\"h-the-country-star-has-shown-his-chops-on-the-rock-classic-before\" class=\"wp-block-heading\"><strong>The Country Star Has Shown His Chops On The Rock Classic Before<\/strong><\/h3>\n<p>Ozzy Osbourne released\u00a0\u201cMama, I\u2019m Coming Home\u201d\u00a0in 1991 on his sixth solo studio album,\u00a0<em>No More Tears<\/em>. In the liner notes for his 1997 compilation,\u00a0<em>The Ozzman Cometh<\/em>, the heavy metal pioneer revealed that \u201cMama, I\u2019m coming home\u201d was what he always said to his wife, Sharon Osbourne, when he was nearing the end of a tour. The song was partially a road-weary ballad and partially sung from an addict\u2019s perspective.
