Kurt Russell\u00a0and Goldie Hawn have been having fun together for 43 years.<\/p>\n

In a recent interview with\u00a0The Wall Street Journal, the 75-year-old actor spoke about the early days of his relationship with Hawn after they met for the first time in 1967, on set of \u201cThe One and Only, Genuine, Original Family Band\u201d when he was 15 years old and \u201cshe was a 21-year-old dancer.\u201d<\/p>\n

\u201cGoldie and I met again in 1983, while working on the film \u2018Swing Shift,\u2019\u201d he said. \u201cBy then, both of us had been through divorces, and she had two small kids\u2014Oliver and Kate\u2014and I had one, Boston. We hit it off and agreed, \u2018Let\u2019s have fun until we don\u2019t.\u2019 It\u2019s been 43 years.\u201d<\/p>\n

Despite never getting married, the two have blended their families and have built a life together over the last four decades,\u00a0raising their children together\u00a0and welcoming their son Wyatt together in July 1986.<\/p>\n

Nowadays, Russell says he and Hawn\u00a0\u201csplit our time between homes in L.A., Palm Desert, California, Old Snowmass, Colorado, and New York,\u201d with Russell saying his favorite is the one in Old Snowmass.<\/p>\n

\u201cIt\u2019s a large, beautiful log-cabin lodge on a ranch that we moved into a little over 40 years ago,\u201d Russell said. \u201cGoldie and I\u00a0share a passion for log homes. I never got that out of my system, starting with the one in Maine.\u201d<\/p>\n

Hawn spoke about their decision not to get married in September 2007, telling\u00a0Women\u2019s Day\u00a0the two of them \u201chave done just perfectly without marrying.\u201d<\/p>\n

She added, \u201cI already feel devoted,\u201d and that so long as her \u201cemotional state is in a state of devotion, honesty, caring, and loving,\u201d the two of them are doing \u201cfine.\u201d<\/p>\n

\u201cWe both have independent finances, we\u2019re both independently well-off,\u201d she said, \u201cWe have raised our children brilliantly; they are beautiful people. We did a great job there, and we didn\u2019t have to get married to do that. I like waking up every day and seeing that he is there and knowing that I have a choice. There is really no reason to marry.\u201d<\/p>\n

Kate and\u00a0Oliver Hudson\u00a0were around 3 and 5 years old, respectively, when Russell came into their lives, and the two of them have been open about looking to him as their father figure, revealing they call him \u201cPa.\u201d<\/p>\n

During a November 2024 episode of their podcast, \u201cSibling Revelry,\u201d Oliver recognized Russell as the man who \u201craised me,\u201d adding, \u201cI\u2019m the man I am today because of him.\u201d<\/p>\n

\u201cThere was a moment when he asked us, myself and Kate, if we wanted to be adopted, and we said no. Not that we were, you know, very aware of probably what it even f\u2014ing meant.\u2026 We just said, \u2018Well, we don\u2019t need it. The love is right there.\u2019\u201d<\/p>\n

\u201cAt the same time, when you don\u2019t have your biological [father] around, it\u2019s hard to replace that, no matter what. The love was there with Kurt, no doubt about it.\u00a0He is my dad. I call him Pa. But there was always, not something missing, but it was always sort of like, \u2018Wow, but there\u2019s that other side.\u2019\u201d<\/p>\n
