Celine Dion Diagnosed With Rare Medican Condition<\/h2>\n

Back in 2022, music legend\u00a0Celine Dion\u00a0was diagnosed with a rare neurological disorder called stiff person syndrome. Dion explained at the time that the illness had forced her to step away from performing.<\/p>\n

Stiff person syndrome\u00a0(SPS) is characterized by progressive muscle stiffness and severe, sometimes unpredictable spasms, according to Johns Hopkins. The condition can significantly impact mobility, posture, and daily functioning. In some cases, external stimuli such as sudden noise, touch, or emotional stress can trigger painful muscle contractions.<\/p>\n

Medical experts describe SPS as an autoimmune disorder in which the body mistakenly attacks healthy nerve cells responsible for controlling muscle movement. Though the exact cause remains unknown, researchers believe abnormalities in the immune system play a major role.<\/p>\n
