Kelly Clarkson reveals she never received her prize for winning season 1 of \u201cAmerican Idol\u201d (YouTube\/TheKellyClarksonShow)<\/p>\n

Kelly Clarkson is still waiting on the grand prize she was supposed to get after winning\u00a0American Idol<\/em>\u00a0more than 20 years ago.<\/p>\n

During the Tuesday, March 10 episode of\u00a0The Kelly Clarkson Show<\/em>, Kelly Clarkson sat down with Rob Rausch, the winner of season 4 of\u00a0The Traitors<\/em>.<\/p>\n

At one point in the conversation, Kelly asked Rob about the $220,800 prize pot he took home. However, he revealed that he still hasn\u2019t received the money.<\/p>\n

Hearing that brought back a not-so-great memory for Clarkson, who admitted she could relate \u201cso hardcore\u201d to the situation.<\/p>\n

Apparently, she was never given the rewards she was promised after winning\u00a0American Idol<\/em>.<\/p>\n

Kelly Clarkson Is Still Waiting On Her\u00a0Idol<\/em>\u00a0Grand Prize<\/p>\n

The \u201cSince You Been Gone\u201d singer won the very first season of\u00a0American Idol<\/em>\u00a0in 2002, and has since gone on to be one of the most successful contestants fans have seen from the singing competition.<\/p>\n

\u201cYou probably weren\u2019t alive when I was on American Idol,\u201d<\/em>\u00a0Kelly joked.\u00a0\u201cI literally was on the show, and they were like, \u2018Oh, you win a million dollars\u2019 or whatever. No, you didn\u2019t. They lied. You did not. It was, like, a million dollars worth of investment in you.\u201d<\/em><\/p>\n

Kelly\u2019s two-decade-long grudge doesn\u2019t stop there, though. Not only was the prize money misleading, but she also never received the car they told her she\u2019d get.<\/p>\n

\u201cThey said you get a car, and I needed it \u2018cause my car was bashed in, and I couldn\u2019t afford the deductible,\u201d<\/em>\u00a0she said.\u00a0\u201cI did not get a car. And then Clay Aiken, who didn\u2019t win the second season, got a car.\u201d<\/em><\/p>\n

Not only did Clay get a car as a runner-up, but the show also gifted his mom one, too.<\/p>\n

\u201cI was like, \u2018What the f\u2013k?\u2019\u201d<\/em>\u00a0Kelly exclaimed. \u201cI remember Clay telling me that the second season, he\u2019s like, \u2018Yeah, they gave my mom one.\u2019 I was like, \u2018I\u2019m gonna actually kick your ass right now.\u2019\u201d<\/em><\/p>\n

Kelly may no longer need the car, but she\u2019s passionate about it because it\u2019s a matter of principle. She even warned Rob not to be surprised if the same thing happens to him.<\/p>\n
