THE VOICE has brought in one million more viewers than American Idol, as fans have been thrilled over Adam Levine\u2019s return to the singing competition.<\/p>\n

American Idol\u00a0brought on\u00a0Carrie Underwood for Season 22\u00a0to join Lionel Richie and Luke Bryan on the judges\u2019 panel and\u00a0replace Katy Perry.<\/p>\n

But despite the cast shakeup, American Idol has been unable to come out on top over NBC\u2019s\u00a0The Voice.<\/p>\n

The U.S. Sun can exclusively reveal\u00a0American Idol brought in 4,510,000 viewers\u00a0for the March 16 episode.<\/p>\n

The Voice beat out the rival singing competition with 5,237,000 viewers for the March 17 episode.<\/p>\n

The March 9 episode of American Idol, which was the premiere, had 4,494,000 viewers.<\/p>\n

The March 10 episode of The Voice had a whopping 5,470,000 fans tune in.<\/p>\n

On March 2, Idol aired a preview to introduce the new judging panel, as 5,905,000 viewers tuned in after the Academy Awards aired.<\/p>\n

This was the only time American Idol beat out The Voice, as the NBC show came in close with 5,646,000 viewers.<\/p>\n

The Voice\u2019s February 3rd premiere also beat American Idol\u2019s with 5,684,000 viewers.<\/p>\n

Adam Levine, John Legend, Kelsea Ballerini and Michael Buble are the coaches for this season of The Voice.<\/p>\n

Adam\u00a0returned to the show\u00a0after a six-year hiatus, as viewers vowed to watch the fan-favorite.<\/p>\n

The singer previously coached the first 16 seasons from 2011 to 2019.<\/p>\n

Adam won three times during his reign on the\u00a0singing competition series.<\/p>\n

CARRIE\u2019S DEBUT<\/strong><\/h2>\n

As judge,\u00a0Carrie, 42, who was the Season 4 winner of\u00a0American Idol\u00a0in 2005, has been brought to tears during her time on the show.<\/p>\n

Carrie\u00a0cried when contestant Breanna Nix\u00a0performed one of her hit songs.<\/p>\n

In another scene, a high school English teacher walked in to reveal her student would be performing a song for her son, who was killed several years ago.<\/p>\n

The\u00a0country singer cried\u00a0and admitted, \u201cI\u2019m not okay.\u201d<\/p>\n

INAGURATION NIGHTMARE<\/strong><\/h2>\n

The Cry Pretty songstress has\u00a0remained silent\u00a0after her controversial appearance at\u00a0President Donald Trump\u2019s\u00a0inauguration\u00a0in January.<\/p>\n

Sources close to Carrie\u00a0revealed she was \u201cfrustrated\u201d\u00a0over how the performance went.<\/p>\n

The insider previously told The U.S. Sun, \u201cHer keeping quiet is an indicator things did not go well for her, not how she wanted.<\/p>\n

\u201cHow the performance was pitched to her and how it ended up going were two very different experiences.<\/p>\n

\u201cMost of that had to do with the event being moved indoors which decreased the guest list and how many people she could bring with her \u2013 something she was not happy about.<\/p>\n

\u201cShe\u2019s proud of herself for how she handled such a chaotic situation but I think she\u2019s second-guessing this whole thing and wondering if it was worth it.\u201d<\/p>\n

The U.S. Sun also reported the performance put the\u00a0American Idol\u00a0team in a \u201cstressful\u201d position<\/p>\n

A source told The U.S. Sun, \u201cThe show just wants to stay away from anything political so this turning into such a big, worldwide topic of conversation is not what [the producers] wanted heading into the start of the season.<\/p>\n

\u201cThe situation has become too big and out of anyone\u2019s control now which is a stressful position to be in while trying to promote a family-friendly, politically neutral show.<\/p>\n

\u201cWhile I know people wish the show wasn\u2019t involved, they are proud of how Carrie handled herself in what I\u2019m sure was a stressful moment but this is basically worst-case scenario.<\/p>\n

\u201cIn terms of the amount of attention it\u2019s gotten and Idol being brought into the political conversation,\u201d a source claimed.<\/p>\n

TENSION ON SET<\/strong><\/h2>\n

The U.S. Sun previously reported the performance even\u00a0affected Carrie\u2019s behavior\u00a0on set.<\/p>\n

\u201cCarrie has been polite but distant from the rest of the crew,\u201d a source claimed.<\/p>\n

\u201cEveryone knows Lionel and Luke better, they have been here longer and are closer with the crew.<\/p>\n
