To her credit, however, she finishes the song like nothing happened. That\u2019s a lesson that has stuck with the \u201cSomethin\u2019 Bad\u201d singer throughout her career.<\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p>\u201cI did forget the words, but I feel like in that moment, it was more about how you jump back in,\u201d she said. \u201cAnd we\u2019ve had a couple contestants now that we\u2019ve seen mess up some words and kind of lose track of where they were. And it\u2019s such a huge moment. You could have practiced this song a million times, but the important thing is, you\u2019ve got to get back on the horse and get back going.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>Somewhat coyly, she added, \u201cAnd I guess it didn\u2019t hurt me too much in there.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<h3 id=\"h-she-thought-that-was-it\" class=\"wp-block-heading\">She Thought That Was It<\/h3>\n<p>Although we now know how this story ends, Carrie Underwood remembers thinking that was the end of her\u00a0<em>American Idol<\/em>\u00a0journey.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cI was like, \u2018Why?\u2019\u201d she recalled. \u201cThis was my moment, and I forgot the words. They\u2019re going to send me home.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p>To her shock, the \u201cJesus, Take the Wheel\u201d singer received unanimous \u201cyes\u201d votes from judges Paula Abdul, Simon Cowell, and Randy Jackson.
