The victim, 77-year-old Dorothy Dobbins, was struck by the truck. She was transported to Vanderbilt Medical Center where she later died.<\/p>\n<p>A statement released by\u00a0Metro Nashville Police\u00a0states that Smith failed to \u201cyield the right of way to the pedestrian,\u201d but was not impaired at the time of the accident.
