Miranda Lambert opens up about not having children with ex Blake Shelton<\/p>\n

Miranda Lambert is happy with her decision to not have children.<\/p>\n

The \u201cIf I Was a Cowboy\u201d singer was previously married to fellow country star Blake Shelton from 2011 to 2016, though they didn\u2019t welcome any children together.<\/p>\n

Like her ex with his wife Gwen Stefani\u2019s kids, the country star is a stepparent, to her husband Brendan McLoughlin\u2019s four-year-old son Landon, and moreover, she says mentoring aspiring musicians has fulfilled any desire she may have had to be a mom.<\/p>\n

Speaking on the Dumb Blonde podcast, hosted by Jelly Roll\u2019s wife Bunnie Xo, Miranda opened up about how not having children of her own has made way for her becoming a mentor to a younger generation of singers.<\/p>\n

\u201cSince I don\u2019t have children of my own, I want to use that part of what I\u2019ve learned for younger generations,\u201d she explained.<\/p>\n

\u201cEspecially of artists because nobody tells you how this goes,\u201d she added, noting: \u201cNobody sits there and gives you a handbook of, like, \u2018Well, when you make it to this level, this is what\u2019s gonna happen.\u2019\u201d<\/p>\n

\u201cJust seeing the fire in the eyes of someone just starting out, it reignites your fire,\u201d she further noted, and that in doing so she alleviates any \u201cburnout\u201d she might be experiencing.<\/p>\n

She went on: \u201cBeing around that new fire and young people that are so hungry and so inspired is like, \u2018I want some of that,\u2019 you know?\u201d adding: \u201cI wanna give them some of the wisdom and some of the reminders [to] enjoy the ride.\u201d<\/p>\n

Miranda married her husband Brendan, a former police officer from Staten Island, in 2019. Speaking with\u00a0Extra\u00a0after their wedding about becoming a stepmom \u2014 Brendan shares his son with ex\u00a0Kaihla Rettinger<\/strong>\u00a0\u2014 she said: \u201cMy stepson is amazing.\u201d<\/p>\n
