The View Co-Host Shades Dolly Parton<\/p>\n

Pop singer Beyonc\u00e9 released her first country album last month to mixed reviews. One of the tracks on the Cowboy Carter is a cover of Dolly Parton\u2019s major hit \u201cJolene.\u201d Beyonc\u00e9 didn\u2019t stay with the original lyrics, however. Dolly\u2019s version begs Jolene not to take her man. Beyonc\u00e9\u2019s version takes a more aggressive approach, practically daring Jolene to even try.<\/p>\n

Beyonc\u00e9\u2019s version opens with the verse, \u201cJolene, Jolene, Jolene, Jolene\/I\u2019m warning you, don\u2019t come for my man.\u201d<\/p>\n

Some diehard Dolly Parton fans were offended that the R&B singer changed the lyrics. However, Joy Behar thought the new lyrics were actually better than the original. The co-host of ABC\u2019s The View said, \u201cI like the subject of Beyonc\u00e9 taking over the lyrics,\u201d on a podcast this week.<\/p>\n
