Rapper BigXthaPlug released his \u201ccountry-inspired\u201d album\u00a0I Hope You\u2019re Happy<\/em>\u00a0this past Friday, which features a number of different country artists like Ella Langley, Jelly Roll, Shaboozey, Bailey Zimmerman and\u00a0Luke Combs<\/strong>. His collab with Bailey Zimmerman, \u201cAll The Way,\u201d topped the country airplay charts, and cracked the Top 5 on the Billboard Hot 100, making it a crossover hit there.<\/p>\n

And while there has been some criticism from country traditionalists about a rapper \u201cgoing country,\u201d and releasing a so-called \u201ccountry album,\u201d this is more of a collaborations project that features country artists singing the choruses of rap songs. It\u2019s not a country album, and I don\u2019t think it\u2019s really trying to be. We\u2019ve seen EDM DJs like Diplo and Audien do similar projects in the past.<\/p>\n

His song with\u00a0Ella\u00a0<\/strong>\u201cHell At Night\u201d was easily one of the fan-favorites, and in an interview with Amber Anderson and Kelly Sutton on Amazon\u2019s\u00a0Country Heat Weekly<\/em>\u00a0podcast, he talked about working with her and how he didn\u2019t know who she was until they met in person. Of course, Ella has had a huge year in the country music industry and has become one of the most prominent mainstream young artists, winning big awards and scoring huge radio hits. Although, I\u2019m sure those who listen to BigX and are much more into rap probably don\u2019t know her music as much.<\/p>\n

So it was really funny to hear him talk about meeting her for the first time, and he admitted to the hosts that it was the first time he \u201cfell in love with a person the first day,\u201d and that he has a huge crush on her now:<\/p>\n

\u201cElla Langley, I didn\u2019t know who she was at the time. She comes walking up to me, it was like a light like this [makes wide open arms gesture], I felt like was around her. And she was just walking and her hair was just\u2026 it was like a movie.<\/em><\/strong><\/p>\n

I\u2019ve never fell in love with a person the first day, I was in love. I was in love. I have a crush on Ella Langley. I will say that right now, I do.\u201d<\/em><\/strong><\/p>\n

The guys love Miss Ella, and while she\u2019s taking a break from touring at least for this month, I\u2019m sure he\u2019ll only fall more in love once he sees her perform live\u2026<\/p>\n
