Anyone who watched\u00a0Erika Kirk\u2019s emotional September 12 video statement\u00a0about the killing of her husband, 31-year-old Charlie Kirk, will likely never forget the way she said,\u00a0\u201cBut most of all, Charlie loved his children, and he loved me with all of his heart.\u201d<\/em><\/p>\n

It\u2019s been just over a week since\u00a0Charlie was killed\u00a0while addressing students at Utah Valley University on September 10, but the absence of the\u00a0Turning Point USA\u00a0founder\u2019s voice is pronounced.<\/p>\n

One week after Charlie had been killed, on Wednesday, September 17, Erika shared a heartfelt tribute to her husband, praising him for a life lived in pursuit of\u00a0\u201cexcellence.\u201d<\/em><\/p>\n

\u201cThis is one of the last photos taken of you before you were murdered,\u201d<\/em>\u00a0she wrote.\u00a0\u201cI look at it and can\u2019t help but see excellence.\u201d<\/em><\/p>\n

On Thursday, September 18,\u00a0Erika was named the CEO of Turning Point USA.<\/p>\n

Erika Kirk Posts Moving Tribute To Her Late Husband<\/h2>\n

\u201cYou loved witnessing excellence,\u201d<\/em>\u00a0begins Erika Kirk in her September 17 tribute to her late husband, Charlie.\u00a0\u201cIt\u2019s why you loved sports so much. You loved watching the best of the best perform at the level of greatness God intended for them.\u201d<\/em><\/p>\n

From there, she recalls how they played basketball together when they first started dating in 2019, writing,\u00a0\u201cI loved seeing you in that element because time was irrelevant. It was just us, the sound of sneakers squeaking and jump shots.\u201d<\/em><\/p>\n

She added that they bonded over the greatness of the legendary NBA player Michael Jordan.<\/p>\n

Erika then noted that Charlie always wore a red bracelet that read,\u00a0\u201cWork harder, be better,\u201d<\/em>\u00a0and she says he lived up to that message.<\/p>\n

Continuing, she wrote:<\/p>\n

\u201cYears later, one day after an event on campus a student asked you about your bracelet, and you gave it to them. I have no idea who that student was or where they are today, but I have no doubt they\u2019re working harder and being better, because you set the tone.\u201d<\/em><\/p><\/blockquote>\n

Her tribute includes a photo of her husband tossing Turning Point USA hats into the crowd at Utah Valley University minutes before he was killed on September 10.<\/p>\n

Describing this photo as capturing Charlie\u2019s\u00a0\u201cexcellence,\u201d<\/em>\u00a0she added, \u201cYou\u2019re in your element. You\u2019re in athlete mode. Training for this exact moment, mind, body, and soul.\u201d<\/em><\/p>\n

Referring to their affinity for Michael Jordan, she stated,\u00a0\u201cTo me, this is your \u2018Jordan\u2019 photo.\u201d<\/em><\/p>\n

This photo, she says, is\u00a0\u201cpermanently etched in time, held in my heart, as I admire your greatness. Forever.\u201d<\/em><\/p>\n

Concluding her tribute, Erika wrote,\u00a0\u201cI pray you\u2019ve had the most amazing week in Heaven.\u201d<\/em><\/p>\n

Charlie And Erika Kirk Talk About Marriage<\/h2>\n

Following the reelection of President Donald Trump in 2024, Erika and Charlie sat down for a few conversations about living life as a conservative Christian couple in highly-secular times.<\/p>\n

Taking questions from viewers of\u00a0The Charlie Kirk Show<\/em>\u00a0on April 13, the first question they were asked concerned how long they had been married and how someone knows it\u2019s time to get married.<\/p>\n

Responding, Erika said,\u00a0\u201cWe\u2019ve been married since 2021, engaged 2020\u2026\u201d<\/em><\/p>\n

Charlie chimed in,\u00a0\u201cSo it\u2019ll be four years.\u201d<\/em><\/p>\n

Erika then added that with the birth of both of their children, they\u00a0\u201chave so many dates to remember.\u201d<\/em><\/p>\n

Speaking on how they knew it was time to get married, Erika said,\u00a0\u201cYou just know \u2026 and plus, we were ready to start our life together.\u201d<\/em><\/p>\n

Interestingly, the next question asked was:\u00a0\u201cWho is more conservative and why?\u201d<\/em><\/p>\n

Charlie was quick to answer that his wife was more conservative than he is,\u00a0\u201cby far, not even close,\u201d\u00a0<\/em>adding that he appears\u00a0\u201cmoderate\u201d<\/em>\u00a0compared to Erika.<\/p>\n
