\u201cCalifornia Gurls\u201d\u00a0singer\u00a0Katy Perry\u00a0and former Canadian prime minister\u00a0Justin Trudeau\u00a0were spotted\u00a0kissing\u00a0while on a yacht off the coast of Santa Barbara, as seen in photos obtained by the\u00a0Daily Mail<\/em>\u00a0on Oct. 12.<\/p>\n

Perry, 40, and Trudeau, 53, could also be seen embracing and cuddling. In one photo, Trudeau is cradling Perry\u2019s backside while they rode the waves.<\/p>\n

PEOPLE reached out to Perry\u2019s representative for comment, but did not receive an immediate response. A rep for Trudeau declined to comment.<\/p>\n

The rumored couple first linked in July when they were seen walking a dog before\u00a0stepping out for a meal together\u00a0at Montreal\u2019s Le Violon.<\/p>\n

At the time, Perry had\u00a0announced her split\u00a0from ex-fianc\u00e9\u00a0Orlando Bloom, with whom she shares 5-year-old daughter\u00a0Daisy Dove Bloom, one month prior.\u00a0Meanwhile, Trudeau separated from his wife\u00a0Sophie Gr\u00e9goire, with whom he shares\u00a0three children, in 2023 after 18 years of marriage.<\/p>\n

\u201cThey are interested in each other, but it will take a while to see where this goes,\u201d the Canadian source said in August. \u201cShe is traveling around the world, and he is figuring out his life now that he is no longer prime minister of Canada, but there is an attraction. They have a lot in common.\u201d<\/p>\n

The source added, \u201cTheir own personal responsibilities could make this relationship move slower than it would, but there are ways to see the other and still fulfill their parenting responsibilities. For one thing, they each have an ex. So, duties are split in half. And long-distance relationships, while still hard, are possible for these two.\u201d<\/p>\n

However, another source told PEOPLE soon after that the two had just been enjoying a\u00a0\u201ccasual first get-to-know-you\u201d date.<\/p>\n
