Music fans will get a behind-the-scenes look into the \u201cgritty and unforgiving life of a touring musician\u201d with CBS\u2019s\u00a0The Road<\/em>.<\/p>\n

Country icons\u00a0Blake Shelton\u00a0and\u00a0Keith Urban\u00a0have teamed up for the new reality series which will follow twelve aspiring musicians as they perform around the country and find out if they are cut out for the life of a country artist.<\/p>\n

Urban and Shelton will serve as executive producers alongside media magnate Taylor Sheridan, best known for the\u00a0Yellowstone<\/em>\u00a0franchise.<\/p>\n

What is Gretchen Wilson\u2019s role?<\/h2>\n

The \u201cRedneck Woman\u201d\u00a0Gretchen Wilson\u00a0will serve as the show\u2019s \u201ctour manager.\u201d In this role, she will offer support and guidance to the contestants, \u201censuring the tour\u2019s success while sharing her own expertise and experiences on the road as a touring artist.\u201d<\/p>\n

    How does voting work?<\/h2>\n

    Each week, the contestants will perform in a different U.S. city as openers for Keith Urban. They must \u201cwin over the audience\u201d in order to advance to the next round of competition.<\/p>\n

    To showcase their full scope of artistry, competitors will perform their original songs. The crowd will vote in real time who stays, and who goes home.<\/p>\n

    What will the winner receive?<\/h2>\n

    The champion of\u00a0The Road<\/em>\u00a0will\u00a0receive\u00a0a grand prize\u00a0of $250,000 and a recording contract.<\/strong><\/p>\n
