Hozier\u2019s ethereal vocals weave through Marcus Mumford\u2019s grit-soaked tone, creating a haunting duel between light and darkness. But that\u2019s just the beginning. Acclaimed folk rock band\u00a0Mumford & Sons\u00a0will release their sixth studio LP,\u00a0Prizefighter<\/em>, on February 13, 2026, via Island Records. Produced by The National\u2019s\u00a0Aaron Dessner\u00a0at Long Pond Studios in New York, Mumford & Sons shared a taste of the album last week by releasing the single \u201cRubber Band Man\u201d featuring Irish artist Hozier.<\/p>\n

Other than Hozier,\u00a0Prizefighter<\/em>\u00a0will feature collaborations with Chris Stapleton on the opening track \u201cHere\u201d, Gracie Abrams on \u201cBadlands\u201d, and Gigi Perez on \u201cIcarus\u201d. The release of\u00a0Prizefighter<\/em>\u00a0comes nearly a year after the release of their March 2025 album,\u00a0Rushmere<\/em>. Before the release of that album, Mumford & Sons hadn\u2019t released an album in seven years, as their prior release was\u00a0Delta<\/em>\u00a0in 2018.<\/p>\n

In a\u00a0social media\u00a0post, posted today, October 29, 2026, Mumford & Sons wrote, \u201cIt\u2019s been hard to keep this one under wraps because we\u2019re about as excited as we\u2019ve ever been to release a record.\u201d<\/p>\n

\u201cWe think Prizefighter is the best music we\u2019ve ever made, and we\u2019ve never been happier doing it. With the help of our old friend\u00a0@aarondessner, we found this creative flow that brought out the best in us as artists, and made us feel comfortable in our skins, and confident in what we have to bring to this mad world of music.\u201d \u201cWe cannot f\u2014g wait for you to hear it,\u201d the post concluded.<\/p>\n

In light of the album\u2019s announcement, the band spoke with\u00a0People<\/em>\u00a0and disclosed that the album\u2019s creation features more artists than just the three of them, as well as the four previously mentioned. \u201cWe were in equal measure, striving and also confident in our ability to be able to open the door, allow different people in. Some of them are featured, some of them are not. There are other people you\u2019ll see in the liner notes who make their way into the writing of these songs or into the performance on the songs,\u201d Ben Lovett told\u00a0People<\/em>.<\/p>\n

According to\u00a0People<\/em>, a few of the names the band mentioned include Justin Vernon of Bon Iver and Brandi Carlile. So, while Hozier, Stapleton, Perez, and Abrams are the only names gracing the headlines as of now, it seems several other notable figures helped with this album\u2019s creation. Before their album\u2019s release, Mumford & Sons will be touring with their next stop being in Stockholm, Sweden, on November 6.<\/p>\n
