Vince Gill\u00a0was recognized during the 2025\u00a0CMA Awards<\/em>\u00a0as the recipient of the Willie Nelson Lifetime Achievement Award. Gill is\u00a0the tenth artist to receive the award, which is known as the CMA\u2019s most prestigious honor.<\/p>\n

Brandi Carlile & Patty Loveless Honor Vince Gill With Emotional Tribute During The 2025\u00a0CMA Awards<\/em><\/h2>\n

The CMA presented the Willie Nelson Lifetime Achievement Award to Vince Gill during its annual awards ceremony on Wednesday, November 19. As part of the presentation, two country stars united to pay tribute to Gill with one of his standout songs.<\/p>\n

Brandi Carlile opened the performance with a stunning rendition of Gill\u2019s mournful hit, \u201cWhen I Call Your Name.\u201d Midway through the song, she was joined by Gill\u2019s longtime friend and collaborator, the extraordinarily talented Patty Loveless.<\/p>\n

Gill could be seen with tears in his eyes when the camera cut to show him watching in the audience.<\/strong>\u00a0His wife, Amy Grant, was also visibly emotional.<\/p>\n
