The Road<\/em>\u00a0Honors Military Members On Week Seven Of The Inaugural Season<\/h2>\n

Going into the seventh episode of CBS\u2019s newest reality series,\u00a0The Road<\/em>, only half of the contestants remained in the running for the grand prize of $250,000 and a recording contract.\u00a0Blake Shelton\u00a0and\u00a0Keith Urban\u00a0are on a mission to find the next country star along with executive producer, Taylor Sheridan.<\/p>\n

The show is designed to see how aspiring musicians handle the \u201cgritty and unforgiving life of a touring musician.\u201d\u00a0Each week, the contestants perform in a new city and the live audience ranks them in real-time. Afterward, Shelton and Urban must decide from those who received the lowest amount of votes, who stays and who goes home.<\/p>\n

This week, the contestants delivered an exciting show at The Hall in Little Rock, AR for a special show sponsored by Crown Royal. In connection with their \u201cPurple Bag Project,\u201d Crown Royal invited active duty and retired servicemembers out to enjoy the show and have a hand in the outcome of\u00a0The Road<\/em>.<\/p>\n

Contestants Perform Acoustic Sets In Little Rock<\/h2>\n

For the first time, the musicians were tested with delivering an unplugged, acoustic show. Blake Shelton was not present for this episode due to his tour schedule, and \u201cBuy Dirt\u201d singer Jordan Davis stepped in to take his place.<\/p>\n

Longtime songwriter\u00a0Adam Sanders<\/strong>\u00a0kicked off the show with a twangy version of \u201cWon\u2019t Back Down\u201d by Tom Petty. He then found a balance between energy and crowd connection with his original song \u201cGet It If You Did It.\u201d<\/p>\n

Channing Wilson<\/strong>\u00a0is no stranger to military life, as his father and grandfather both served. He covered Waylon Jennings\u2019 \u201cI\u2019m A Ramblin\u2019 Man\u201d as a way to recognize the time that servicemembers have to spend away from home. His original, \u201cOl\u2019 Dog,\u201d was an autobiographical song written after an experience he had earlier this year, when he received a life-saving stent in his heart.<\/p>\n

Next,\u00a0Britnee Kellogg<\/strong>\u00a0chose \u201cBlack Velvet\u201d by Alannah Myles as her cover song for the week. Additionally, she performed her deeply-personal song \u201cKing of Legoland,\u201d which was inspired by her eldest son. He battles autism, colorblindness, and epilepsy, but finds his escape through his favorite hobby.<\/p>\n

 <\/p>\n<\/div>\n

Billie Jo Jones<\/strong>\u00a0performed one of the most well-known military tunes in country music, \u201cTravellin\u2019 Soldier.\u201d The song was made famous by The Chicks and recently released by Cody Johnson. She described her original song, \u201cCan\u2019t Take Keith Whitley Tonight,\u201d as one of her most-favorite songs that she has ever written.<\/p>\n

 <\/p>\n<\/div>\n

Cody Hibbard<\/strong>\u00a0chose to \u201cswitch things up\u201d and attempt a sing-along to Travis Tritt\u2019s \u201cIt\u2019s A Great Day To Be Alive.\u201d During his performance, he mistakenly pulled out his in-ear monitor and struggled to locate it, which visibly shook his confidence on stage. After, he performed an original ballad, \u201cLong Ride In A Short Bed.\u201d<\/p>\n

Finally, self-described \u201cArmy brat\u201d\u00a0Cassidy Daniels<\/strong>\u00a0performed \u201cFolsom Prison Blues\u201d by Arkansas native Johnny Cash, armed with her mandolin. She closed the show with her original song, \u201cAin\u2019t No Jukebox.\u201d<\/p>\n

Keith Urban Reveals The Results\u2026 Spoilers Ahead!<\/h2>\n

Once all the performances had concluded, Keith Urban revealed a shocking plot twist. Because each of the contestants performed so well this week, the coaches\u00a0chose to not send anyone home<\/strong>.<\/p>\n
