of roughly 10 minutes, the two terrorists coldly fired around 50 bullets into the gathered crowd.<\/p>\n<p class=\"mol-para-with-font\">One of them has been identified as 24-year-old Akram from Bonnyrigg in Sydney\u2019s south-west. He reportedly told his mother he was going on a fishing trip.<\/p>\n<p class=\"mol-para-with-font\">Akram was shot, arrested and remains in custody, where he is being treated by emergency services.<\/p>\n<p class=\"mol-para-with-font\">His father, 50, was gunned down at the scene.<\/p>\n<p class=\"mol-para-with-font\">The death toll from the massacre rose to 16 by Monday morning local time, and includes a 10-year-old child. The oldest fatal victim is understood to be 87.<\/p>\n<p class=\"mol-para-with-font\">The attack took place on Sunday shortly before 7pm local time as the attackers targeted a Hanukkah by the Sea event on Sydney\u2019s Bondi Beach in an act of \u2018terrorism\u2019.<\/p>\n<p class=\"mol-para-with-font\">At least 16 people were killed \u2013 including one of the attackers \u2013 and at least 40 people were injured as the Jewish community was taking part in a family-focused festival to celebrate the the first night of Hanukkah.<\/p>\n<p class=\"mol-para-with-font\">A child passed away at Sydney Children\u2019s Hospital in Randwick.
