TODAY<\/em>\u2018s Savannah Guthrie misspoke during a recent interview with\u00a0Reba McEntire, and it prompted a comical response from the country music legend.<\/p>\n

McEntire stopped by\u00a0TODAY<\/em>\u00a0to talk about her upcoming role as\u00a0the host of the\u00a0Christmas in Rockefeller Center<\/em>\u00a0special\u00a0airing on Wednesday (December 3). She also discussed her NBC sitcom\u00a0Happy\u2019s Place<\/em>\u00a0and her relationship with Rex Linn.<\/p>\n

Linn and McEntire\u00a0started dating\u00a0in 2020, and they\u2019re now inseparable. They even star together in\u00a0Happy\u2019s Place<\/em>!<\/p>\n

The couple\u00a0got engaged\u00a0on Christmas Eve in 2024, but kept the news secret for months.\u00a0They finally\u00a0announced their engagement\u00a0at the Emmy Awards in September.<\/strong><\/p>\n

McEntire told Guthrie why she and Linn waited so long to announce their engagement:<\/p>\n

\u201cA lot of people did not know. And when he asked me to marry him, it was Christmas Eve a year ago. So we were gonna announce it when we got back to L.A., but the [wild]fires happened. And there was not room for our joy in [the] devastating situation that everybody else was in.<\/em>\u201c<\/p><\/blockquote>\n

Reba Has Comical Response After Savannah Guthrie Mistakenly Calls Rex Her \u201cHusband\u201d<\/h2>\n

As McEntire\u00a0shared in the past, she and Linn are in no rush to walk down the aisle. They\u2019re simply enjoying being engaged for the time being.<\/p>\n

But because the pair is so deeply in love, Guthrie mistakenly said Linn was McEntire\u2019s \u201chusband\u201d during her interview with the singer.\u00a0McEntire stopped her, joking:<\/strong><\/p>\n

\u201cNow, wait a minute. Before everybody has a conniption fit at home, we\u2019re just engaged<\/em>,\u201d she said.<\/p>\n

Guthrie apologized for misspeaking, to which McEntire responded, \u201cMy family will go, \u2018Wait, you didn\u2019t tell us?!<\/em>\u2018\u201d<\/p><\/blockquote>\n

When they finally tie the knot, McEntire and Linn will have a small, \u201clow-key\u201d ceremony.<\/p>\n

\u201cA Reba, Rex wedding is going to be very different<\/em>,\u201d McEntire said. \u201cIt\u2019s going to be low-key, lots of fun, lots of people, lots of food. Our big motto is have fun<\/em>.\u201d<\/p><\/blockquote>\n
