Carrie Marie Underwood was born on March 10, 1983, to Steve Underwood, a paper mill worker, and Carole Underwood, an elementary school teacher. She was raised in the small town of Checotah, Oklahoma, and often performed at her local church and various local events, including the Robbins Memorial Talent Show where she wowed onlookers with her incredible vocal abilities. After attending Checotah High School where she was an honor society member and softball player, she went on to earn her Bachelor\u2019s degree in mass communication with an emphasis in journalism from Northeastern State University. She rose to fame on the fourth season of American Idol. She\u00a0won\u00a0American Idol Season four in 2005 and began her fast track to superstardom.

\nCarrie Underwood \u2013 Some Hearts<\/p>\n

After signing with Arista Nashville of Sony Nashville, Underwood released her debut album,\u00a0Some Hearts<\/em>, on November 15, 2005.
