Ahead of the premiere of the new season,\u00a0Idol<\/em>\u00a0has released a sneak peek of one of the powerful auditions that await viewers.<\/p>\n

Watch Jesse Findling Impress The Judges Despite His Stutter<\/h2>\n

Released on Tuesday, January 20, on the official YouTube page of\u00a0American Idol<\/em>, the show is offering a glimpse of what is bound to be a compelling, and emotionally stirring, season.<\/p>\n

Walking in for his audition for the returning\u00a0Idol<\/em>\u00a0judges, Lionel Richie, Luke Bryan, and Carrie Underwood, 19-year-old Jesse Findling begins to introduce himself, saying,\u00a0\u201cI\u2019m a college student right now, but I\u2019ve been singing ever since I was little with my brother and sister. We would pull up karaoke tracks and we would just sing with each other, and since then, I did choirs in school.\u201d<\/em><\/p>\n

He added,\u00a0\u201cIf you haven\u2019t noticed, I have a stutter, and that\u2019s really where my love for singing came.\u201d<\/em><\/p>\n

In a video incorporating footage from Jesse\u2019s childhood and his path to the\u00a0Idol<\/em>\u00a0auditions, Jesse explains that he has had his stutter since he\u00a0\u201cwas little,\u201d<\/em>\u00a0noting he has\u00a0\u201cstruggled with it since elementary school.\u201d<\/em><\/p>\n

Describing his stutter as a source of\u00a0\u201cembarrassment,\u201d<\/em>\u00a0he recalled that it often led to him hesitating to raise his hand to participate in school.<\/p>\n

\u201cIt was just something that made me feel alone and that I had to hide,\u201d<\/em>\u00a0Jesse stated.<\/p>\n

Turning to his knack for singing, Jesse said,\u00a0\u201cSinging has always felt freeing for me, because, when I sing, I don\u2019t stutter. When I sang, it was a way for me to express myself in a way where I didn\u2019t have to worry about being embarrassed of what people would think or if they would laugh.\u201d<\/em><\/p>\n

Before singing his audition for the\u00a0Idol<\/em>\u00a0judges, he said,\u00a0\u201cWalking out with a golden ticket would mean that everything that I\u2019ve struggled with in the past has all led me here, and I can do whatever I want if I work hard.\u201d<\/em><\/p>\n

Performing \u201cIn The Stars\u201d by Benson Boone, from the very first notes, the judges could be seen responding to his voice.<\/p>\n

Carrie Underwood looked delighted at first, but soon joined Luke Bryan in tearing up with the strength of Jesse\u2019s performance.<\/p>\n

By the end, all three judges gave a standing ovation.<\/p>\n

\"American<\/p>\n

\u201cI don\u2019t think I blinked one time,\u201d<\/em>\u00a0remarked Luke Bryan.\u00a0\u201cYou\u2019re a real singer.\u201d<\/em><\/p>\n

Continuing, Luke said,\u00a0\u201cMan, I\u2019m really proud of you \u2026 I love this show because we get to meet kids like you.\u201d<\/em><\/p>\n

Carrie Underwood chimed in, saying that Jesse has a\u00a0\u201cbeautiful\u201d<\/em>\u00a0voice and complimented how Jesse was \u201cin the song, emotionally.\u201d<\/p>\n

Lastly, Lionel Richie said,\u00a0\u201cThe only thing wrong with you is you gotta figure out how to navigate this career.\u201d<\/em><\/p>\n
