Reba McEntire<\/strong>\u00a0celebrated her 40th anniversary as a member of the\u00a0Grand Ole Opry\u00a0on Friday, January 16, after inducting\u00a0Suzy Bogguss\u00a0as the\u00a0newest member of the Opry.<\/p>\n

Trisha Yearwood introduced the legendary singer\/songwriter\u2019s performance, saying, \u201cTonight has been full of milestones and this one is extra special. This year marks the 40th anniversary of Opry membership for a woman who defines what it means to be a Grand Ole Opry member. Reba has shaped country music and so many of us who have followed in her footsteps and have been lucky enough to walk along beside her. It\u2019s impossible to say how many country artists she\u2019s inspired, and it\u2019s not just about the music, it\u2019s about the person she is. I\u2019m telling you, she\u2019s exactly who you want her to be. I\u2019m proud to be her friend.\u201d<\/p>\n

Yearwood then paid tribute to McEntire in celebration of her \u201cincredible career and her four decades as part of the Opry family.\u201d She then performed \u201cHow Blue\u201d with\u00a0Mica Roberts\u00a0from The Opry Band before welcoming McEntire to the stage for her show-stopping performance.<\/p>\n
