The Irish actress, 36, scooped the gong for Best Actress for her role in\u00a0Chloe Zhao\u2019s Hamnet during this year\u2019s star-studded ceremony at the Royal Festival Hall.<\/p>\n

As Jessie\u2019s voice became shaky with emotion, she said: \u2018I\u2019d like to share this with my daughter who has been with me since she was six weeks old on the road with this.<\/p>\n

\u2018It\u2019s the best role of my life being your mom and I promise to continue to be disobedient so you can belong to a world where all your mad, complex wildness as a young woman.\u2019<\/p>\n

She had opted for a catch blue dress paired with black heels to receive the honour as she\u00a0beamed ear-to-ear.<\/p>\n

The star also said in her acceptance speech:\u00a0\u2018This is really such an incredible honour. As a little girl I never thought in a million years I would be allowed to make a film but here I am.<\/p>\n

\u2018When I arrived into my agent Lindy King in London, and I had nuclear bad fake tan on, white hoop earrings, a polka dot red skirt and dress, and I had the audacity to say to her that I dreamed to someday be something like Judi Dench.<\/p>\n

\u2018I don\u2019t know how on gods green earth she even dreamed that was\u00a0possible. This really does belong to the women who have taught me and continue to teach me how to do it differently.\u2019<\/p>\n

Thanking her fellow\u00a0nominees, Jessie forgot to include Kate Hudson and asked the audience: \u2018Who have I left out?\u2019\u00a0She then added \u2018I am in awe of all your incredible performances thank you.\u2019<\/p>\n

After the ceremony, Jessie was snapped clutching her BAFTA in her hand, looking set to party as she arrived at the Universal and Focus Features afterparty at Oswald\u2019s in London.<\/p>\n

Joined by her fellow nominees Kate Hudson and Emma Stone, the actress underwent an outfit\u00a0change as she climbed out of her car in a long-sleeved black midi dress with a ruffled hem.<\/p>\n

Jessie carried the gold mask gong in her hand as she proudly toted her honour, after picking up another award\u2019s win.<\/p>\n

She completed the look with a pair of simple black heels after opting for an eye catching blue dress for the ceremony at the Royal Festival Hall.<\/p>\n

One Battle After Another was the big winner at this year\u2019s awards, as it scooped six gongs during the ceremony.<\/p>\n

The Paul Thomas Anderson hit had already received a record 14 nominations, and came\u00a0out on top as it won Best Film, Best Director, Adapted Screenplay,\u00a0Supporting Actor, Cinematography and Editing.<\/p>\n

The\u00a0night wasn\u2019t without surprises, as\u00a0Timothee Chalamet missed out on Best Actor to a home-grown favourite.<\/p>\n

Despite being tipped as a favourite for the honour for his role in Marty Supreme, Timothee\u00a0lost out on the prize to I Swear star Robert Aramayo.<\/span><\/p>\n

As One Battle For Another was awarded Best Film, producer Sarah Murphy said: \u2018We wish more than anything that our producing partner Adam Somner could be here to accept this on behalf of us on his home turf.\u2019<\/p>\n

Director\u00a0and producer Paul Thomas Anderson said: \u2018Thank you for rewarding our film in the way that you have, its just a tremendous honour.<\/p>\n

\u2018I\u2019m well aware of the other films that share this. Anybody that says movies aren\u2019t any good any more they can piss off because this is just a great f*****g year.\u2019<\/p>\n

He added that he planned to go and find a \u2018bar somewhere to go celebrate.\u2019<\/p>\n

The biggest loser of the evening was the highly acclaimed ping pong drama Marty Supreme, which went into the evening as one of the favourites, with 11 nominations. It came away\u00a0completely empty-handed.<\/p>\n

Jessie, who is already tipped as a favourite to win the Oscar for Best Actress, used her acceptance speech to thank her fellow nominees.<\/p>\n

Meanwhile viewers, and guests in attendance, were stunned when it was announced that Robert had been awarded Best Actor for I Swear, beating out Hollywood heavyweights Timothee and Leonardo DiCaprio.<\/p>\n

Upon learning of his son\u2019s honour, Robert\u2019s father jumped to his feet and was shouting and jumping up and down when his son\u2019s name was read.<\/p>\n

From the stage, Aramayo said: \u2018I absolutely can\u2019t believe this. I can\u2019t believe I\u2019m looking at people like\u00a0you never mind that I\u2019m stood here.<\/p>\n
