The Kelly Clarkson Show host moved to NYC in 2023<\/p>\n

Kelly Clarkson has shared little details about her New York home \u2013 but she did drop one bombshell about her rented abode earlier this week.<\/p>\n

The 42-year-old moved to the Big Apple in 2023 ahead of The Kelly Clarkson Show\u2019s fifth season, and while she loves her new home, she found she had too much square footage to fill.<\/p>\n

Speaking to actress Robin Wright on the show on November 4, Kelly admitted she has turned one of the home\u2019s many rooms into a year-round Christmas room.<\/p>\n

\u201cI have a Christmas room,\u201d she announced while the duo discussed the most appropriate time to start celebrating the holidays.<\/p>\n

\u201cI moved here and the house was perfect because it was in between my kids\u2019 school and work but it\u2019s too large,\u201d she added.<\/p>\n

\u201cI was like. \u2018What am I going to do with this room?\u2019 And then I decorated it the first year for Christmas and was like, \u2018That was a lot of work, we\u2019ll just shut the doors until [next] Christmas.\u201d<\/p>\n

Kelly and her two children, daughter River Rose, 10, and son Remington \u201cRemy\u201d Alexander, eight, are sure to make full use of the room even after the holidays.<\/p>\n

\u201cWe have a whole room, and we\u2019ll literally go in there and dance throughout the year and just put Christmas songs on \u2013 we love it,\u201d she explained to Robin.<\/p>\n

Despite her successful singing career, Kelly admitted that her talents take a back seat when she attempts to sing with her children at Christmas.<\/p>\n

Kelly now hosts her show from NYC<\/em><\/p>\n

\u201cMy kids usually tell me to shut up because they want to perform \u2013 I often tell them that people pay [to hear me sing] but they don\u2019t care,\u201d she joked.<\/p>\n

Kelly loves her new home and decided to splurge on a luxury property when she relocated from Los Angeles, opting for a new pad just a few blocks away from Central Park.<\/p>\n

Speaking to\u00a0USA Today\u00a0at the time, she said: \u201cAt this point, I\u2019m 40 years old. Mama rented something nice! I was like, \u2018I\u2019m not living here unless it\u2019s right by the park and really nice for the kids.\u2019\u201d<\/p>\n

Kelly candidly shared her initial hesitations, admitting that before her move she wanted to relocate to Montana: \u201cI\u2019ll be real honest, I thought I was making a horrible decision.<\/p>\n

\u201cI really wanted to be in Montana, but you can\u2019t really do a show from there quite yet. So, I was like, \u2018The only other option would probably be New York\u2019.\u201d<\/p>\n

New York didn\u2019t take long to win her over. \u201cAfter just a few weeks, I genuinely love it, and I love that my kids love it,\u201d she confessed.<\/p>\n

She also added to People of her new city: \u201cIt\u2019s a beautiful place. It\u2019s a beautiful energy. The energy of it is very me.\u201d<\/p>\n

Kelly\u2019s kids have even adapted well to their new environment. \u201cMy son walked out of his school and was like, \u2018This is the right school for me. The other one didn\u2019t fit like this one,\u2019\u201d she told Audacy last October.<\/p>\n
