Megan Moroney shared a tear-jerking moment with a 20-year-old fan, named Anna Brooke Sullivan, who unexpected lost their dad three months earlier, during her intimate VIP experience, which takes place hours before her headlining concert on the Am I Okay? Tour.

Before her performance on Thursday (April 3) at The Orion Amphitheater in Huntsville, Alabama, the country superstar delivered an acoustic performance of her emotional song, “Heaven By Noon,” at Anna’s request, dedicating it to the fan’s late father, Brad Sullivan. The moving moment occurred during the Megan Moroney VIP Experience when she spotted Anna’s poster in the audience that read, “please play ‘Heaven By Noon’ for my dad in Heaven.”

“That’s not the song we were going to play, but since you made a sign, I’ll play it for you. I appreciate that. So that’s very sweet, I’ll play it for you. I was going to play ‘Sad Songs For Sad People,’ but I think that this feels more important,” Moroney told the crowd. “This is ‘Heaven By Noon,’ thanks for being here.”

Emotional Performance Of “Heaven By Noon” Dedicated To A Fan’s Late Father

Dressed in a camouflage cutoff shirt featuring her tour name in royal blue, denim shorts, and powder blue and bone City Boots adorned with hearts, Megan Moroney sat on a stool in the center of the stage and went on to strum her silver rhinestone Gibson guitar, made by Daniel Diamond, while singing the emotional lyrics of the heart-wrenching tune.

“I know where you’re at/ And there ain’t no time at all/ No heartbreak, no more pain/ Just streets of gold you get to walk/ When I talked to you this mornin’/ I said, ‘I’ll see you soon’/ Would have said so much more if I only knew/ That you’d be in Heaven By Noon,” Moroney sang on the chorus of the track.

After the show, the fan shared a clip of the performance and detailed how it came to be. “My dad passed away unexpectedly 3 months ago, this song has been one of the main things getting me through these past few months,” Sullivan captioned the clip on TikTok. “Her reading my sign and playing this for VIP after having prepared ‘Sad Songs for Sad People’ meant so much. Thank you, Megan, for writing such a powerful song and sharing it with the world and me.💙”

The Moment Brought The Fan To Tears

Anna Brooke Sullivan also revealed to us how much it meant to her that Moroney sang the song for her in honor of her dad, and admitted that the performance even brought the fan to tears.

“I made the sign with no expectations of her singing that song. I was so shocked when she read it as soon as she walked out and decided to go through with it. I was honestly speechless but so incredibly thankful,” Anna Brooke told Music Mayhem. “I could not stop crying because no matter how many times you listen to it over the radio, it is so much more personal and heartfelt hearing it live and in person.”

She continued, “That moment meant so much to me. I still cannot believe it, and am speechless on how incredibly thankful I am that she did that. Her song ‘Heaven By Noon’ has been one of the main things that’s gotten me through some really hard/dark times these past 3 months without my dad. Just hearing that song after you lose someone you love so deeply will change your life. I felt every single word deep in my heart because his passing was so unexpected. I always wish I could have said more, but I know he is watching over me from Heaven.”

The Country Star Rarely Performs The Song Live

This marks only the second live performance of the emotional tune, following her In Memoriam tribute performance of the track at CRS 2025 (Country Radio Seminar). She doesn’t perform the song much, as it’s a very personal track that pulls at her heartstrings.

Megan Moroney previously shared that “Heaven By Noon” is a very meaningful song for her, as it is inspired by real life tragedy. “A lot of people don’t know this, but my uncle died on 9/11, so I thought about my aunt when I was writing that song because the last thing they talked about was an oil change. And that’s probably not what she would’ve wanted to say to him if she knew it was going to be the last time,” Moroney explained during an interview on Today’s Country Radio with Kelleigh Bannen via Apple Music. Moroney wrote the song alongside Jessie Jo Dillon and Matt Jenkins.
