Kelly Clarkson has been wowing audiences with covers of popular songs since the beginning of her talk show in 2019. To date, Clarkson has performed hundreds of covers, generating millions of views on the show’s social channels.

In an interview with Billboard, the show’s executive producer, Alex Duda, revealed that the idea for Kellyoke emerged during early show planning, emphasizing music as a key factor of the program.

“We thought, ‘Wouldn’t it be fun if we open the show up with a different cover,’ just like she already does? Because we were trying to incorporate different pieces of Kelly into the show,” Duda, explained.

Since then, Clarkson has covered a wide range of songs, spanning from pop to country and beyond. She’s shown a special love for country music, performing popular tracks from the genre on recent episodes, such as Jelly Roll’s “Save Me” and Lainey Wilson’s “Heart Like a Truck.”

Most recently, she tackled Amy Grant’s ’90s hit “Baby, Baby” on her show.

About “Baby, Baby”

“Baby Baby” is a song by singer and songwriter Amy Grant, released as the lead single from her eighth studio album, Heart in Motion (1991). Co-written by Grant and Keith Thomas, who also produced it, the song debuted on January 18, 1991, under A&M Records. It topped the US Billboard Hot 100 chart for two consecutive weeks in April 1991, marking the first of several hits from Heart in Motion.

The song received significant acclaim and was nominated for three Grammy Awards at the 34th Annual Grammy Awards in 1992, including Song of the Year and Record of the Year.

“Stop for a minute / Baby, I’m so glad you’re mine / And ever since the day you put my heart in motion / Baby, I realize there’s just no getting over you”

“THEY HELD EACH OTHER FOR JUST A SECOND LONGER — AND SOMEHOW, THE ENTIRE ARENA STOPPED BREATHING.” 🔴👇 When Laurence Fournier Beaudry and Guillaume Cizeron stepped onto the ice that night, it didn’t feel like just another performance — it felt like something fragile, something that could slip away if you blinked at the wrong moment. Every movement between them carried a quiet intensity, the kind that only comes from months of trust, sacrifice, and a connection that doesn’t need words to be understood. As their final notes faded, they didn’t celebrate immediately — they simply held each other, as if trying to hold onto a moment they both knew would never come back the same way again. The crowd erupted, but for a brief second, it felt like the noise didn’t reach them at all — like they were still lost in something deeply personal unfolding right there on the ice. There was pressure, expectations, and history hanging over every step, yet what remained wasn’t the score — it was the way they leaned into each other, refusing to let the moment pass unnoticed. Even their closest rivals, Piper Gilles and Paul Poirier, seemed to understand that what had just happened went beyond competition. And somewhere between the music, the silence, and that final embrace… it became clear this wasn’t just a victory — it was something much harder to explain, and impossible to forget… WATCH BELOW 👇👇👇
